It is a winter flower in these parts and its delicate, soft scent is carried on crisp air.  A reminder that even in the middle of winter, spring is always just around the corner…

It always brings to mind the words of my favourite poet.


“Round as a sun is the golden tree.

Its honey dust sifts down among the light

to cover me…

We spent an afternoon in the warm winter sunshine chasing sea snails in rockpools revealed by the tide, and rock hopping along the water’s edge.  Sand in our toes and salt on our skin.

It is nothing short of stunning to be in the company of a family who are so naturally happy and loving.  All the while, each one of them and collectively as a family they radiated a quiet, joyful anticipation of meeting their newest family member.

I have no doubt that growing up with such an intelligent and articulate big brother and sister, and with such loving parents, this baby will live, grow and thrive surrounded always by love.

I hope I captured even some of this in my photos.

A Little Ray of Sunshine – Axiom

It was cold and grey and rainy the day I met Indi, much like it is today.   But nothing could warm your heart as quickly as this chirpy little girl.  With the sparkliest eyes you have ever seen, she lit up the room and she melted my heart.  Each newborn I work with is a unique little personality, a sweet little miracle.  Indi wanted to share those enrapturing eyes with the world,

How do you describe the perfect little family that gains a new member?  More perfect??

 

 
A brand new life is created and born into his new world, into a loving family, into the place he was always meant to be.  And it is as if he had always been there.  As if there was never a time when he did not exist there.  Because he always did.  Because love is like that.  It is not finite, it is inexhaustible.  There is always more, no matter how much you have already given.  And when we love someone they become part of us, and that part has always been there.  Even before we existed.
